CARAT-PERIDOT is a higher model of the CARAT-HD1V and the first model of JEWEL series which is the premium Style audio line.

As with the CARAT-HD1V which was designed with professional Audio components such as a OSCON, WIMA, TCXO and Vishay-Dale, the CARAT-PERIDOT is also developed with the best components in higher density design. Especially its audio quality and output level are upgraded above that on offer with the HD1V. It is a real “Hi Fi Audio DAC & Headphone AMP”.

The PERIDOT is able to work without a separate power adapter and its small size is perfect for portability. The PERIDOT can be connected to a personal computer or a CAR PC in a car. The USB control chipset works “Play & Plug”. The recommended headphone impedance of PERIDOT is 24ohm~300ohm.

Like a planning new city

The Style Audio design philosophy is very similar to planning a new city.
The PCB designer of the PERIDOT has 4 different main sections such as Input, Digital covertion, Main Power and Analog stages. Style Audio designed these 4 different areas separately and also included isolation to ground in the circuit design. The PERIDOT has an independently shielded DC-DC converter.

 
No need separate power adapter

The PERIDOT can work without an additional power adapter using power over USB. However for best use an additional power adapter can be used. The PERIDOT was also designed with “Power Filtering” which filters power from the power input. For this the PERIDOT has a special circuit with an inductor from TDK.

Best components

For the open, close & selecting of analog signal, the PERIDOT takes a traditional relay control method. This is not using  “IT components” such as selecting semi-conductor. The PERIDOT takes a high quality electronic product from JAPAN NISE which was is usually used in very high level audio products. For even small SMD components, the PERIDOT takes F-level resistors & J-level condensers. All the electric condensers are from OSCON and all film condensers are from WIMA.

 

1.5ppm TCXO

Same as the HD1V the higher quality PERIODOT also has 1.5ppm TCXO. TXCO is normally used in very high quality audio products. We believe this could affect many positive audio feeling.

300 ohm headphone accepted

The PERIDOT can filter unnecessary noise from the input stage of the headphone AMP and was designed like an independent headphone AMP. Fo44r OP AMP, PERIDOT has OPA2134 from TI and also there is OPA2604 from TI for output. Specially output level is 2Vrms which is same level of Hi Fi level CD player or Hi Fi DAC. This upgrade  was asked for by the many users of the HD1V. The recommended headphone impedance of PERIDOT is 24ohm ~ 300ohm.

 
Aluminum volume knob

The PERIDOT has aluminum volume knob instead of the plastic version which was used in The HD1V. This aluminum knob can upgraded to a higher position. Also it has green color LED.
