Naim ND 555 Reference Network Player Streamer inc 555PSU
Pure musicality with Naim’s most advanced streaming platform
Enjoy peerless sound quality streaming wirelessly from almost any source, including Chromecast built-in, Spotify, Tidal, AirPlay and Apple Music and Bluetooth AptX HD plus your own digital music collection via UPnP.
Naim’s reference network player is quite simply the best source component they’ve ever developed. Drawing on decades of digital and analogue engineering experience, the ND 555 marries their innovative new streaming platform with classic Naim analogue technology.
It features a 40-bit SHARC processor with advanced signal processing, a suspended brass sub-chassis to isolate sound-critical circuits from vibrations and the best external power supply they’ve ever made.
Key features
The streaming section uses the latest Naim network card featuring low-noise, high-speed LVDS (low-voltage differential signalling) to route the digital audio signal. It can decode HD audio formats at up to 32 bits/384 kHz or DSD128.
To ensure optimum performance, the streaming section is isolated on its own chassis, in an aluminium Faraday cage. Key audio boards are also entirely isolated from the casing with springs specially tuned to decouple all vibration above 10Hz, resulting in clearer sound reproduction.
Uses Low Voltage Differential Signalling (LVDS) to route the digital audio signal in order to minimise timing errors and radiation.
Uses 13 Naim DR regulators to provide ultra-clean voltage, allowing the ND 555 to perform at its best, with minimum noise and interference.
Extendable Wi-Fi aerial for enhanced coverage and connectivity to both 2.4 & 5 GHz high-speed Wi-Fi.
Over-the-air updates via the Naim app will enable you to update your system at the touch of a button.
Easily control and update your player via the Naim App, with a large, full-colour display adding to the great user experience. (Don’t like displays? You can turn it off if you prefer!) It’s also Roon Ready.
Advanced Control
For those who prefer a more tactile experience, a premium metal Zigbee® remote control is supplied. It requires no line of sight to the player, so you can take control whatever direction you’re facing. The front panel features a 5” colour display presenting album artwork as well as track information in crisp detail
Update concerning Powerline / Power Cables.
Effective immediately, all Naim 500 series components will be shipped
with standard AU/NZ power cables. These units had previously been supplied with Powerline, cut and
terminated in Australia with Australian plugs. Naim engineers report the cable too thick
to comfortably fit, therefore compromising the principle of the Powerline cables.
