There are quiet few hi fi producers that has been in business since the dawn of hi fi. JAS Audio is not one of them.

The independent Hong Kong based company was established around 2003, and since then they have been designing and manufacturing most kinds of hi fi products. You will find the JAS logo on everything from tube amplifiers, hi fi furniture, DAC, CD players, cables, and speakers.

JAS Audio have an unusual developing program. Most of the time you would find small independent Hi-Fi companies are the vision of one or two enthusiasts with a set mind on how their designs should sound. Not with JAS Audio. The Hong Kong Chinese behind JAS set down a development team for each category.  That means, one team for speakers, and one team for amplifiers  etc. Not until all on each team are satisfied will a product is it deployed to dealers.

It doesn’t take much modern industry insight to understand there are more cost efficient ways to develop products however JAS Audio wouldn't have it any other way.

Socrates is Jas Audio's new flagship with AMT treble, 7 "Accuton midrange and 11" Accuton bass. If you like to get everything served on a silver platter, then you will fall for these speakers. For Jas Audio, the primary focus of the Socrates's design, namely the ability to preserve the smallest detail and sense of being in a live performance is key.

While this is a goal oft stated in the Hi-Fi industry it is almost impossible to achieve, but which is easy to discern. Like when hearing a well recorded track played back on a great system felt in the hairs on the neck rise, Socrates leads you emotionally into the music with good presence and harmony.

More well-known speaker manufacturers can at most put any price tag on such a product without any relation to what it actually cost to get a finished product to market. Exclusive merchandise is expensive, but Jas Audio being independent has a different take on "corporate" profits, so that the user gets all the benefits. Raw materials are sourced from the top shelf and put together to be uncompromising. Both the 7 "and 11" Accuton elements have Neodymium magnet and new suspension which are virtually completely free of air resistance, and all power is delivered without any interference. Neodymium magnets are also on the AMT treble that Jas Audio has developed for this construction.
